We’re two friends who grew up on opposite ends of the earth. We met a few years ago in the mountains of Montana and have been hanging out and writing songs together ever since. We both love making music but found that when we do it together, it turns out to be something a little different and colorful.

2019 was a fun one. We played a ton of festivals and got to tour with Rend Collective, Zach Williams and Tenth Avenue North. This year we’re releasing a bunch of new music and headlining our own tours. We would love to see you along the way!

Land of Color started when two singer/song writers Gary Rea and Thomas Ewing met in the mountains of Montana in 2015. Before the band started, they were both worship leaders and solo artist in their own right but they feel like the Lord brought them together to create something that is unique and greater than the sum of the parts. Gary was born and raised in South Africa and Thomas is from Colorado. Their different cultural and musical backgrounds have resulted in a unique sound that is a blend of African rhythms, singable melodies and tight harmonies.

The guys talk about how the band was birthed out of community and that it was at family gatherings in the early days of their friendship that they would grab their guitars and start writing songs. “The songs came quickly and easily” says Thomas “and they were simply an overflow of what the Lord was doing in our lives individually and as a community.” In 2016, they decided to record an album of the songs that they had been writing under the name HOLY MNTN and before long they were getting invites from all over the country for them to perform their music. In 2018, they changed their name to Land of Color and signed a record deal with Remade Records, an imprint label under Sony/Provident.

SOME OF OUR SONGS

Can I just tell you how awesome these two guys are?!?! We’ve been touring for almost two decades and I’ve never been around two more genuine, creative, and servant hearted people. Paul talks about us having the aroma of Christ. Land of Color reeks of Jesus! They’re warm, loving, and quite frankly, some of my favorite musicians on earth. Your people will be blessed by them in every way possible.

Land of Color breathed fresh life into our worship community. Our people were quick to embrace Gary and Thomas who led well with humble hearts. Their visit was a great opportunity for me to invest in our people and has had a lasting impact on our worship culture.

I would highly recommend Land of Color to any church interested in having them to lead worship or to perform a concert. Gary and Thomas are genuine, real, godly men who humbly put others first and come to serve what God is doing in a local congregation. They are worshippers at heart. And they are phenomenal musicians & songwriters! You won’t be disappointed.
